Privacy Policy

Effective September 30, 2026

The short version

Defiant has no ads, no analytics and no tracking. We don't collect, see or sell your data. It lives on your devices and, if you turn on iCloud sync, in your own private iCloud.

When it opens, the app checks a small file on our website for update notices. That request contains nothing about you, and we don't log it.

What's stored

Your workouts, plans, exercises, bodyweight, settings, run routes, form photos, and the name and picture you add to your profile. All of it is stored on your device.

iCloud

With iCloud sync on, that data is copied to your private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit so it's available on your other devices. Only your Apple Account can read it; we can't. You can turn sync off at any time in Settings.

Apple Health

Only if you switch it on. Defiant reads your bodyweight and saves your workouts and bodyweight to Apple Health. Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never shared with or sold to anyone, and never leaves your devices and your iCloud.

Location

Only while you're recording a run you started, to map your route and measure distance and pace. Routes are saved with that workout and nowhere else.

Camera, microphone and photos

Only when you take or choose a form photo, workout video or profile picture. The image or video is saved with your data; nothing else in your photo library is read.

Your choices

• Export everything as CSV from Settings.
• Delete all workout data from Settings, which removes it from your device and your iCloud.
• Deleting the app removes what's stored on the device.

Children

Defiant isn't directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will appear in the app and on this page with a new effective date.
